Sustainable Design
Our experience in sustainable building design is based on over twenty years of energy conscious design and understanding of how to minimize a building’s environmental impacts. Our approach is based on getting the best solution from the budget available and prioritizing reducing the building’s demands for energy and resources. We also ensure that the construction is carried out to ensure the building performs as predicted.
Standards
We design to the principles of the passivhaus standard and the AECB silver standards and have designed buildings to BREEAM and we can provide full accreditation through long standing partner assessors.
Environmental Strategies
We can assess the options of how best to minimize environmental impacts for new and existing building projects as part of our service. This and help clarify the best solution to reduce energy demand to a minimum and offset any remaining demands with renewable energy. We use our own LEDA ‘Lean design’ approach to sustainable design that ensures we obtain the desired results in the least costly manner. For more information see here.
Health and Well being
Buildings can affect our health and it is important that our designs make sure our well-being is enhanced as we occupy and use them. Natural daylight, good ventilation, comfortable indoor temperatures, good internal air quality are a part of our sustainable design approach..
